Colour & appearance

Brilliant pale yellow with greenish reflections, crystal clear in the glass with a fine perlage that testifies to the lively acidity.

Nose

A complex bouquet of white peaches and Lime zestunderpinned by mineral notes of wet slate. Delicate floral hints of Elderflowers and a subtle herbal spiciness lend additional depth to the flavour profile. Over time, nuances of green apple and a fine honey note.

Palate

The full elegance of the Doosberg vineyard is evident on the palate: tightly structured, with a piquant acidity that is perfectly integrated into the fruit structure. The mineral precision dominates, carried by the flavours of ripe fruit. Stone fruits and Citrus fruits. The wine has impressive length with a salty, almost maritime finish that reflects the slate soils of the site.

General information

Peter Jakob Kühn's biodynamically farmed Doosberg vineyard in the Rheingau produces an exemplary dry Riesling. With 12.5% alcohol and minimal residual sweetness, this wine epitomises the pure essence of minerality. The 230-year-old family tradition and the Demeter certification practised since 2004 are reflected in its authentic character.

Food pairing suggestions

Ideal for steamed monkfish, Scallops or Oysters. Harmonises excellently with Asparagus in hollandaise sauce, Goat's cheese tart or more classical Trout miller. Also to Sushi and Sashimi an excellent choice.
