Wine information
Facing south-southeast and at an altitude of 340 to 470 metres above sea level, this unique vineyard is characterised by fertile Opok soils. This site has the potential to produce deep and mineral wines of distinctive character. After a natural fermentation, the wine spent 18 months in neutral oak barrels before being bottled unfiltered.
Color
A bright golden yellow blends with visible silver and green reflections to create a truly pretty colour scheme.
Smell
With the 2019 Morillon Ried Rossberg, one finds a lovely, inviting aroma of refreshing pears, citrus fruits, quince and a blooming summer meadow, enriched by a hint of ginger and subtle roasted aromas of latte and toasted baguette. The mineral components of the wine are lush and layered, and the oak barrel creates a wonderful and subtle toasted note.
Taste
On the tongue, the wine is playful, at the same time juicy and powerful, which immediately activates the taste buds. Its refreshing acidity binds itself to a fine salt note and forms a harmonious unity with the juicy bright fruit. An extremely elegant and Burgundian drop whose finesse and memorability can hardly be surpassed. An excellent companion for a variety of dishes. Enjoy it not too cold and from large glasses.
Recommended dishes
Try it with baked ravioli stuffed with peas and morels. Alternatively, it goes wonderfully with grilled flatfish with almond butter and green asparagus or chicken legs from the guinea fowl rattle with a side salad of quinoa, fennel and pear.
