Wine Description for Meursault En Luraule AOC 2022 1500ml Magnum by Rémi Jobard

Colour & Appearance
Luminous golden yellow with greenish reflections that underscore the youthfulness of this 2022 vintage. Brilliant clarity in the glass, testament to Rémi’s consistent avoidance of aggressive fining.
Nose
Precise and restrained elegance – exactly as one imagines a classic Meursault. White flowers, hazelnut and freshly cut apple form the aromatic foundation. Beneath these, flint and lemon zest emerge, whilst the deliberately moderate use of new oak leaves only subtle brioche notes. The nose promises complexity without excess.
Palate
Here Jobard’s philosophy reveals itself in its full consequence: lean, mineral, precise. The texture is creamy without being heavy, carried by a vital acidity structure that lends the wine tension and freshness. Stone fruit, almond and a fine saline note dominate, whilst the oak serves merely as a structural frame, never as the lead player. The 13% alcohol is perfectly integrated.
Finish
Long and mineral with persistent citrus freshness. The wine leaves a silky impression on the palate that invites the next sip. The length is remarkable for a young vintage.
Terroir & Origin
En Luraule lies in the heart of Meursault and produces that mineral precision which has made the village famous. Rémi’s intensive vineyard work allows the grapes to authentically express the limestone soil.
Grape Variety & Vinification
100% Chardonnay, aged over two winters in barrel with only 20% new oak. Increasingly, 600-litre Stockinger barrels are also used, which preserve the wine’s lean, mineral structure. Bottled unfiltered.
Food Pairing Recommendations
Scallops with butter, lobster, turbot in cream sauce, Poulet de Bresse with morels or Comté of medium age. The magnum bottle predestines this wine for festive occasions.
Special Features
From a family with winemaking tradition since the 16th century. The magnum bottle guarantees optimal ageing conditions for the next 8-12 years.
