Color
dark purple
Nose
From the pair of brothers Morei and Sgarzon is the Morei always the darker and also darker fruity wine, as the name already says. Elderberry can be found here in the juicy fresh nose, in addition sour cherries and just ripened blackberries, a little cassis and also dates and a bit of wet clay.
Palate
On the palate, the wine shows the incomparable tension and sandpaper-like tannin of red wine from the amphora. At the same time, the wine is juicy, cool and decidedly lively mineral, with good pull on the palate. The slightly acidic yet ripe dark fruit notes harbor a sweet core. The wine is still very young and needs some time in the decanter to open up.
Food recommendations by Christoph Raffelt
- Roast beef with elderberry-onion reduction
- Venison fillet with blackberries, currants, goat ricotta and Szechuan pepper
- Pasta with cream cheese, figs and walnuts
