Info
The white Mulatschak is based on 50% Welschriesling and 25% each of Pinot Gris and Traminer. The dominant grape variety was harvested at the end of August, the other two varieties at the beginning of September. Five to seven days of maceration were allowed. After pressing from the skins, the wine spent four months on the fine lees in the tank until bottling.
Sandy loam soils with a gravel layer.
Colour
Intensely bright golden yellow with a slight cloudiness and orange reflections
Nose
Enormously aromatic and inviting, the 2022 Weißer Mulatschak opens the nose. Orange blossom, a little juice and plenty of zest from this marvellous fruit. A little tangerine skin and its zest follow in the same vein. Bergamot has a supporting effect. Khaki fruit and mirabelle plum also work in this direction. A hint of cinnamon and white pepper also add spice. Camomile blossom tea builds up slowly and then becomes omnipresent. Violets and lavender also make an appearance, adding plenty of elegance.
Palate
The palate is full of character and flavour. With little alcohol and bone dry, there is little room for the fruit. Instead, its zesty and floral flavours come into their own. It is characterised by a fine, very pleasant bitterness. This makes it even more drinkable and appealing.
