On the nose, the 2019 GT from Pranzegg practices distinction through demarcation Aromatically, it is currently primarily controlled by fermentation tones that make you aware of the long yeast storage, instead of trying to lure you out of your reserve with roses and lychees, as is typical for the grape variety. Pranzegg's GT from 100% Gewürztraminer was harvested early and kicked around before being left on the mash for five days without temperature control.

The Pranzegg winery is named after the estate where Martin Gojer has been producing his wines since 2009 as a reflection of their origin, the vintage and the family's way of life. Above the Bolzano valley basin, Gojer's vineyards are farmed biodynamically by hand, and in the cellar, too, less is more Long fermentation and long maturation periods on full lees with the addition of only small amounts of sulphur characterise the wines, which are always bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Pranzegg's GT from 100% Gewürztraminer was harvested early and kicked before being left on the skins for five days without temperature control. Fermented spontaneously with part of the crests, it lay in used chestnut tonneaux for six months before being placed in concrete until the following October.

Color

Old gold with silky matt reflections.

Nose

On the nose, the 2019 GT from Pranzegg practices distinction through demarcation Aromatically, it is currently primarily controlled by fermentation tones that make you aware of the long yeast storage, instead of trying to lure you out of your reserve with roses and lychees, as is typical for the grape variety. Rather, it accentuates the "spice" aspect of the grape variety, instead of fruity traminers for all they're worth. Mace, chestnut honey and warm yeast plait outline the base note before some orange zest adds some fruit. A high-performance Gewürztraminer that should definitely be enjoyed in a carafe, and in good time.

Mouth

The nose also shows its yeasty aromatic side, until the tannin kicks in and brings the profound tannin structure onto the playing field. The finest Darjeeling with orange zest, along with ethereally cool notes of mint and nutmeg spice outline it on the palate, while the acidity adds a peppery spicy tip. An out-of-the-box spice that lifts the variety out of the familiar spectrum and also opens new doors at the table.
