Brilliant golden yellow with crystalline clarity - a Riesling that already visually announces its maturity and concentration.

Nose

A Riesling of remarkable originality is revealed here. Instead of pleasing fruit flavours, it is dominated by Spicy notes of nutshells and maceflavours, accompanied by the rustic impression of fresh bread crust. With contact with the air, subtle citrus flavours and a subtle core note develop - a flavour profile that deliberately goes against the mainstream and is reminiscent of classic Alsace Rieslings of past decades.

Palate

The spicy character continues on the palate. The Tart contouring phenolic gives the wine an almost Burgundian structure, while the oily texture bears witness to the pebbly alluvial soils of Turckhem. Ripe tannins provide a leafy feel that gives the wine complexity and depth. The finish is persistent and longcharacterised by fine spicy notes - a Riesling for contemplation, not for quick enjoyment.
