Dark purple with a purple rim and opaque core, the wine is clear and bright in the glass.


Already with its first, literally blossoming, fragrance, this single-varietal Serine outlines the beauty of the symbiosis of virtuoso craftsmanship and natural "becoming wine".
Serine is an exemplary result within the evolution of Syrah in the Côte-Rotie and, once tasted, it is impossible to imagine the enrichment of wine enjoyment without it.
Black heart cherry and clove meet plums and blackberries in intimate communion. Cinnamon bark and liquorice, as well as allspice, mace and cocoa shells condense the aromatic spectrum of the Rhônelander and enjoy the light-hearted thermal upwind of floral hibiscus and peony notes.


A prime example of a wine that stands for density rather than heaviness and length rather than breadth, the 2016 Côteaux de Tupin glides leisurely across the palate. Its dark berry fruit is taken by the hand by spice, which combines determination with thoughtfulness in the right measure. Velvety tannin forms a coherent picture of thousands of puzzle pieces and brightens it up with acidity bursting with vitality. In all its clarity, heaviness and lightness at the same time, this wine by Jean-Michel Stephan is the wine equivalent of Johann Sebastian Bach's Prélude of the Cello Suite I in G major.
