Roche-Audran

To the east of the Rhône, nestled in a refuge of trees, shrubs and herbs, lies a place of living biodiversity. Domaine Roche-Audran is cultivated biodynamically by Vincent Rochette. The modest winegrower works with the classic grape varieties of the Rhône Valley - especially with Syrah and Grenache, he can rely on old vines whose deep roots ensure serenity even in hot years.
More about Roche-Audran
The Roche-Audran style
Domaine Roche-Audran stands for solid winemaking craftsmanship without pretence. With white, rosé and red wines, the winery conveys the character of its region in a very accessible way. The Côtes-du-Rhône line is convincing in terms of flavour and quality - the Côtes du Rhône Rosé 2024 is a prime example of the Mediterranean way of life, the Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2023 the ideal everyday companion.
Vincent's wines are wonderfully unagitated. This positively uncomplicated style makes drinking a pleasure rather than a philosophical excess. Full of fruit and flavour it impresses with its drinking flow for barbecues, cosy evenings or family celebrations.
Biodynamics as a philosophy of life
Vincent Rochette cultivates his vineyards biodynamic. Around the vineyards, he has created a refuge of biodiversity with trees, shrubs and herbs - a living ecosystem that strengthens the vines and gives the wines character. The old vines From Grenache and Syrah are well prepared for the adversities of nature. Their deep roots allow winegrowers to sleep peacefully at night, even in hot years.

Côtes du Rhône - much more than a mass appellation
The appellation covers a huge area along the Rhône between Valence and Avignon. Scarce 50,000 hectares of vineyards are allowed to bear this name. Many producers are mass producers - fortunately there are positive counter-examples such as Roche-Audran. Renowned wineries from neighbouring appellations such as Du Coulet in Cornas or Châteauneuf-du-Pape bottle wines under this name.
The diversity of grape varieties in the Rhône makes for wines full of character. Grenache dominates the reds and rosés, and the fine art of the cuvée is actively practised here. With the Terre Nature „Sans Soufre Ajouté“ Vincent has created a cuvée of Grenache and Syrah without additional sulphur bottled - a wine that lives from purity, purism and drinking flow.
The top wines: Cuvée César and Visan
Above the accessible Côtes-du-Rhône line, Roche-Audran offers more sophisticated growths. The Cuvée César - named after Vincent's grandfather - shows what is possible in this region. The Côtes du Rhône Villages Visan 2022 comes from the village of the same name north of Orange and brings additional structure and depth to the glass. Lean and juicy, with fine acidity peaks - wines that prove that great wines do not have to be expensive.
