Wine information
The Corral de Campanas is a red wine from the Toro growing region. It is made from the Tinta de Toro grape variety at 100%. It is a local Tempranillo clone that has adapted very well to the extreme continental climate in the area along the Duero river. The Tinta de Toro has small, thick-skinned berries and produces red wines with a high concentration of fruit and a dense tannin structure. The grapes for the Corral de Campanas 2020 are organically grown, the red wine is fermented spontaneously and matured partly in large wooden vats and partly in smaller barriques.
Color
Purple red with violet reflections
Nose
This red wine offers a nose of dark fruit and an earthy minerality that is typical of a Tempranillo from the Duero region. The nose is fresh and well-balanced overall.
Palate
The Corral de Campanas 2020 is a typical Toro wine in that it is potent and fleshy and comes across as densely structured on the palate. The great thing about it is that, despite its power and dark fruitiness, it does not come across as overripe, but has tension, structure and freshness. The wood is excellently integrated into this red wine, the tannins are present and ripe and leave a velvety-soft mouthfeel. The price-pleasure ratio of this red wine should also be emphasised.
