Color:
In brilliant garnet red with a purple core, the wine appears clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose:
The 2015 Clos du Moulin aux Moines Vielles Vignes from the vineyard of the same name is dark and spicy for a representative of its kind. Besides wild strawberry and raspberry, notes of Russian bread and rye, as well as black Assam tea and fresh red pepper present themselves. In addition, peppery flavours of allspice and a breath of lovage.
Palate:
On the palate, the wine from the Monopol site in Auxey-Duresses of Clos du Moulin aux Moines turns the tables in an exciting and likeable way. The darkness becomes light. While the intensity remains the same, all the flavors lighten up a bit and become lighter on their feet. The secret of good Burgundy. Subtle, yet grippy tannins and a tightly stretched acidic arc set the catapult that shoots this wine on the palate into the vastness of almost endless mineral length.
And again!
