- Colour & Appearance
- Luminous ruby red with violet reflections, signalling youth and freshness. Crystal clear in the glass with medium intensity – typical of a varietal Gamay from a cooler climate.
- Nose
- Seductively fruity with cherry, raspberry and strawberry to the fore. Subtle floral notes of violet and a delicate mineral freshness reminiscent of granite. No obtrusive oak – the wine shows itself pure and unadulterated.
- Palate
- Juicy and elegant with lively acidity that makes the wine dance. Red fruit dominates the palate as well, accompanied by fine herbal notes and a hint of white pepper. Silky, fine-grained tannins provide structure without dominating. At 12.5% alcohol, the wine remains delightfully drinkable and displays a remarkable balance between fruit, acidity and structure.
- Finish
- Medium length with persistent fruitiness and refreshing minerality. The wine leaves a clean, uncomplicated impression that invites the next sip.
- Terroir & Origin
- The grapes come from the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, a region that Boris Champy regards as the future of Burgundy in the age of climate change. The higher elevation ensures cooler temperatures and longer ripening periods, which lend the Gamay particular freshness.

- 100% Gamay, vinified in the style of a classic Burgundian Gamay. Champy, renowned for his masterful handling of oak, deliberately eschews dominant barrique use here and lets the fruit and minerality of the grape variety speak for itself.

- An ideal companion to charcuterie, pâté or rillettes. Excellent with grilled salmon, Coq au Vin or mushroom dishes. Also a delight with mature Comté or goat’s cheese.
