Wine description for Gewürztraminer 2022 from Domaine Albert Mann

Colour & appearance

Bright straw yellow with brilliant golden reflections in the glass - a visual promise of maturity and concentration.

Nose

Gewürztraminer shows its most elegant side here. Instead of the often overloaded flavours of many representatives of this grape variety, this 2022 is surprisingly disciplined and delicate. Delicate Elderflowers and Mace dominate, accompanied by subtle echoes of Cinnamon blossom and a fine citrus note of Oranges and Pomelo. For connoisseurs, exotic nuances of Mangosteen and Rambutan - proof of Domaine Albert Mann's precision and understanding of the terroir.

Palate

The attack surprises with a balanced residual sweetness that is never intrusive, but perfectly frames the aromatic complexity. Candied orange peel, Kumquats and Fully ripe mango unfold alongside Elderflower syrup. The seasoning component - Carnations, Allspice, Cinnamon blossoms - always remains discreet and integrated. The viscous, almost oily texture gives the wine remarkable pressure on the palate, while the 14% alcohol is skilfully integrated. The finish is long, aromatic and almost demands intense flavour partners on the plate.

General information

Domaine Albert Mann has been cultivating its 25 hectares in Wettolsheim according to organic and biodynamic principles for generations. The approximately 35-year-old vines for this Gewürztraminer are rooted in gravel and clay-limestone soils - an ideal combination for structure and aromatic depth. The 2022 vintage is ripe and concentrated, without the overload typical of the variety.

Food pairing suggestions

This Gewürztraminer calls for aromatic, spicy cuisine: Thai curry, Tandoori dishes, Peking Duck or Foie gras are ideal partners. Also to Muenster cheese, savoury goat's cheese or Asian fusion dishes It harmonises perfectly with ginger and coriander. Seasoned roast pork or Moroccan tajine round off the spectrum.

Special features

A Gewürztraminer that emphasises elegance over opulence - a rarity and a testimony to biodynamic precision work in Alsace.
