Colour & Appearance

Luminous, radiant golden yellow with brilliant clarity – a wine that already announces its presence in the glass.

Nose

Enchantingly exotic: papaya and ripe mango dance with gooseberry, underpinned by seductive notes of tonka bean and vanilla foam. The mineral freshness of Lake Neusiedl meets subtle, perfectly integrated toasted notes from oak ageing – a fascinating tension between fruity opulence and structured elegance.

Palate

Creamy texture meets vibrant freshness – this wine masters the balance masterfully. Orchard fruit and salty-mineral, with an appetising interplay between richness and tension. The 12.5% alcohol never feels heavy, but carries the aromatic diversity with ease. The three grape varieties merge into a harmonious whole: Chardonnay’s creaminess, Sauvignon Blanc’s freshness and Welschriesling’s spicy minerality.

Finish

Long, salty-mineral with lingering exotic fruit notes and a hint of roasted almonds. The freshness remains present right to the end.

Terroir & Origin

„TO“ – the Hungarian word for lake – is a love letter to Lake Neusiedl, whose Pannonian climate and mineral influences give this wine its unmistakable identity. Velich harnesses the climatic advantages of this unique vineyard site with great skill.

Grape Variety & Vinification

A thoughtfully crafted cuvée of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Welschriesling, skilfully aged in oak that never dominates the fruit but lends it complexity and structure. Velich once again demonstrates his mastery in handling white grape varieties.

Food Pairing Suggestions

This wine calls for creative, spice-driven cuisine: Asian fusion dishes, Thai curry with seafood, scallops with saffron or the suggested confit organic egg yolk with goat’s cheese, chanterelles and apricot. Also an excellent choice with creamy risottos or pan-fried monkfish.
