The Suisassi represents the compelling vision of Duemani, cultivating Syrah in Tuscany’s Maremma – a bold decision in a region traditionally known for Sangiovese. This cuvée embodies the Mediterranean interpretation of a Rhône varietal, combining spicy complexity with the sun-blessed fruitiness of Tuscany’s coastal region. The wine displays character and expressiveness, with the typical density of the 2021 vintage.

Terroir & Origin

Duemani manages its vineyards in the Maremma, that emerging coastal area of southern Tuscany, which is increasingly establishing itself as a terroir for international varieties. Proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea provides moderating breezes, whilst the soils – often characterised by clay and limestone – create ideal conditions for concentrated, mineral wines. The climate is warmer and drier than in the Chianti region, which suits varieties such as Syrah and enables complete physiological ripeness.

Varietal & Vinification

Syrah finds a second home in the Maremma, where the varietal combines its characteristic peppery spice with Mediterranean fruit abundance. Duemani pursues a craft approach with a focus on organic viticulture and respectful cellar work. The moderate alcohol content of 14% points to balance, whilst the dry expression underscores varietal typicity.
