Color
In dark purple with a love of violet, the wine shines with a clear sheer opaque core.
Nose
Self-confident, without overlapping voice, but not obtrusive, this unwavering St. Laurent announces its appearance. Although fruit plays a supporting and decisive role, it is nevertheless a supporting role. Generally there is no star here. Only the ensemble has radiance. Discreetly toasty and spicy notes of freshly baked rye bread, buckwheat and Russian bread combine with pleasant gingerbread, juniper and allspice. These are applied, underpinned and maintained on a canvas of blueberries, brambles and cranberries. Its ever-changing scent, not least influenced by the mica slate of its origin, subtly tempts you to simply not let the glass out of your hand.
Palate
As dark berry as it is characterized by juicy freshness, the 2015 St. Laurent Rosenberg from Heike and Gernot Heinrich harbors its strength exactly in this. This wine has completely internalized the gentle and careful working method of the Heinrichs in their accompaniment of the winemaking process. The invigorating acidity of the wine refreshes the soft, yet backbone giving tannin of the wine and completes what it needs for its tightrope act between grounding and weightlessness.
Body tension, accuracy, sense of balance.
