Wine profile

Framed by the coastal freshness of the Donnersberg massif, the terrain around Mölsheim holds surprising features. Situated at a sufficient altitude, it allows the cold winds to roam unhindered through the wine landscape. The specificity of this region also resides in the narrowing of the Zellertal, which allows the wind to carry through the valley like a catalyst. This interplay of geographical conditions results in cooler daytime temperatures and extremely short dry periods after rainfall. The bare limestone rock soil, covered only by a thin layer of gravel, in which the roots of the vines take hold, is characteristic of the Mölsheim vineyard. Difficulties in cultivating the vineyard due to a constantly regrowing accumulation of limestone is both a blessing and a curse, after all the resulting mineral character is impressively reflected in this Riesling.

Colour shade
The wine tasting reveals a rich golden yellow, enriched with recognisable nuances of green tones.

Bouquet
The 2018 Mölsheim Riesling "Treasure Collection" captivates with exotic aromas of kumquat peel, juicy orange flesh, refreshing citrus and fiery ginger. The underlying minerality and finesse make this yet-to-be-polished gem something special.

Palate game
The fruity-sweet and salty element tempts the taste buds into a dance, while the refreshing structure, reminiscent of a mountain spring, enchants. The wine reveals itself with playful ease on the palate and ends with a lingering echo. A wine at the beginning of its maturation, excitingly youthful, full of energy and profound - a high on life and liveliness! It promises impressive ageing potential. It is recommended to decant the wine in its youthful state and serve it in large glasses, and not too cold.

Food suggestions
