Color:
Golden yellow, bright and clear.
Nose:
The nose of the 2015 Grosse Lage Raffes already promises great things. Grown on grey slate in a parcel of the Falkenlay, the Raffes is always the most Bacchic of Busch's wines. Full-bodied on the nose with rich aromas of ripe peaches, lemons and Darjeeling tea, it is underpinned by the typical spicy slate notes: white pepper, vetiver, pebbles and wet stones. All of this is conveyed not as steamy chatter, but with noble calm.
Mouth:
The 2015 Marienburg Grosse Lage Raffes from Clemens Busch is also an exhilarating stunner on the palate. With a creamy texture and tight body, it is zesty in spice with fine-grained, contouring phenolics and animatingly ripe acidity. Despite its relative richness, it has superb drinkability and mouthwatering acidity with fruit-intensive extract sweetness. Despite its power it convinces by discipline and objectivity, is demanding and at the same time full of verve with a fruity, mineral-cool and persistent aftertaste.
