Economist Rebholz

Robert Parker called it "the sharpest and most precise interpretation of Palatinate terroir" – at Ökonomierat Rebholz from Siebeldingen, there are no compromises. Hansjörg Rebholz consistently carries forward the legacy of four generations: bone-dry wines that let the pure terroir speak for itself. Across 26 hectares, four different soil types – from Rotliegendes to Muschelkalk – produce Grand Crus of international stature. The biodynamically managed VDP top vineyard sites such as Kastanienbusch and the monopoly site Im Sonnenschein deliver wines of crystalline precision year after year. Purism as philosophy, terroir as compass – that is Rebholz.
More about Ökonomierat Rebholz
Four Soils, One Uncompromising Style
On the edge of the Palatinate Forest, the Rebholz family cultivates a unique terroir mosaic of four rock formations. Red sandstone lends the Rieslings mineral tension, bunter sandstone provides elegance, slate brings power and shell limestone offers fine acidity structure. This geological diversity is reflected in every wine – never manipulated, always fully fermented, invariably bone-dry.

Monopoly and 100-Point Wines
The VDP top vineyard sites are the heart of Rebholz. The Kastanienbusch Riesling GG received a sensational 100 points from Gault&Millau in 2017 – a bombshell for the German wine scene. The monopoly vineyard Im Sonnenschein produces Große Gewächse of crystalline precision year after year. These are complemented by Ganz Horn and Schäwer as well as the legendary Mandelberg for Weißburgunder Große Gewächse.
Biodynamics Meets Burgundy Tradition
Certified organic since 2005 and a respekt-BIODYN member since 2015, the estate combines ecological conviction with artisanal perfection. Alongside the characterful Rieslings, the R-line produces extraordinary Burgundy wines aged in small oak barrels. The R' Chardonnay demonstrates that international varieties too find their Palatinate identity here. A rarity at the margins: the Muskateller trocken – proof of the varietal clarity characteristic of Rebholz's style.

Generations of Integrity
What began in 1889 with great-grandfather Eduard as a "natural wine" philosophy, Hansjörg and Birgit Rebholz continue today with their twin sons Hans and Valentin. For 25 years, Hansjörg led the VDP Pfalz and shaped an entire generation of top winemakers – fellow producers like Weingut Christmann follow similar quality principles. The family stands for an uncompromising wine philosophy: what nature provides is respected and brought to the glass unadorned. This consistency makes every "Rebhölzer" an unmistakable terroir ambassador of the Palatinate.
