Colour & appearance

Slightly cloudy golden yellow with delicate peach-coloured reflections. The fine, lively perlage testifies to the natural bottle fermentation - unfiltered and authentic, as befits a real Pét-Nat.

Nose

A fascinating interplay of flavours between red berries and Dried figs, which is characterised by a cool, pleasantly tart note. Floral notes mingle with a vinous and yeasty A primer that gives the wine depth. With a little air wild herbs - Purist, unadorned, profound. Saint Laurent shows his untamed side here.

Palate

The arktika packs a punch on the palate: Gripp and texture meet an animating, sparkling carbonic acid that really tickles the tongue. The yeasty character also gives the wine Creaminess and character - a balance that few Pét-Nats manage to achieve so elegantly. Fine spice and a salty minerality round off the mouthfeel. With only 10% alcohol, it remains light-footed and easy to drink.

Departure

Medium length, refreshingly tart with a finish of red fruits and a fine bitterness that invites you to take the next sip.

Terroir & origin

From Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland, where the Pannonian climate with its warm days and cool nights creates ideal conditions for fresh, aromatic wines. Anita and Hans Nittnaus are among the pioneers of the Austrian natural wine scene.

Saint Laurent in its playful, sparkling interpretation: Pétillant Naturel means natural bottle fermentation without the addition of sugar or yeast. The wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined - pure fruit, pure vibrancy.

Food pairing suggestions

Perfect as an aperitif or with savoury snacks, Finger food, vitello tonnato, Sushi, Oysters, smoked fish or savoury cheeses. Also to Asian tapas with chilli and ginger is a revelation.
