Tasting note
Color:
Light golden yellow with clear silvery and green reflections.
Nose:
The 2023 Auxerrois von Quarz und Lehm from Michael Andres is elegant with fine fruit of apple, pear, quince and clear flavours of lemon, lemon zest and fresh ginger. With a little air, hints of mussel shells and delicate yeasty flavours emerge. A multi-faceted wine that scores with restrained elegance at the start.
Palate:
On the palate, it is just as elegant with the fine fruit of the nose and an invigorating acidity, in combination with an extremely fine salty trace, which also has an extremely invigorating effect. The perfect accompaniment to a cuisine characterised by herbs and vegetables.
Food pairing suggestions
- Mushroom and avocado carpaccio with poached egg (vegetarian)
- Lukewarm green asparagus with Maltese sauce and small potatoes (vegetarian)
- Tarte flambée with chicken breast and scamorza
