Tasting note
Info about the wine:
The Grillo grapes come from vines over 20 years old in Marsala, the vines of the Zibibbo vines are over 30 years old. Volcanic terraces in Pantelleria and sandy loam in Marsala.
Removal Info:
The Grillo & Zibibbo grapes from Pietranera and Grappoli are destemmed and lightly pressed and macerated for 24 hours. The subsequent fermentation takes place at low temperatures with wild yeasts for 48 hours in stainless steel tanks. After further aging for 7 months on its own yeasts in stainless steel, the wine is bottled.
Color:
Bright and sparkling golden yellow with silvery reflections.
Nose:
Unpack the lounger by the pool and the sun cream, the 2023 Sole e Vento has arrived. Summer is also the scent we think of when we smell the glass. Aromas of pineapple, ripe mango, oranges and distinct orange and elderflower - it immediately puts you in a holiday mood. However, it is by no means a fruit-driven wine, but also reveals the finest notes of fennel herb, Mediterranean herbs, mussel shells and aniseed.
Palate:
Juicy, palatable and charming, it hits the tongue with a lovely fruity sweetness accompanied by a fine tart citrus note. Flavoursome and refreshing, a wine to drink on its own in large quantities. Also a great accompaniment to fruity and aromatic summer cuisine.
Food pairing suggestions
- Guacamole with mango and coriander (Vegetable & Vegetarian)
- Linguine with prawns and lemon basil sauce(seafood)
- Spicy glass noodle salad with poultry strips(poultry)
