Wine
Huet, Clos du Bourg demi-sec 2015, Vouvray
Color
platinum yellow with golden reflections
Nose
Ribbeck's pears could have been the inspiration for this Chenin from the »Clos du Bourg vineyard. But the golden yellow ripe pome fruit is not all that the Chenin Blanc has to offer. With air, a handful of mirabelle plums mixes in, orange peel becomes noticeable, and the wine also gets a grapey note. Above all, however, the Clos du Bourg demi-sec seems almost creamy-warm, which is supported by an increasingly clear caramel note.
Palate
However, this caramel is not found at all on the palate. There, stone, extract spice and a juicy fruit dominate, which is dominated by the pear. The Clos du Bourg shines brightly and clearly, the sweetness is hardly to be defined, so strongly it is held in check by the coherent 2015 acidity. You want to drink this tense Clos now, but it will only reach its true greatness in a few years.
