Info
The cuvée of Malvasia, Viura and Garnacha Blanca is fermented spontaneously in French oak and acacia barrels. The wines then mature for ten months on the fine lees in the same barrels.
Color
Sparkling lemon yellow with green reflections
Nose
The nose oscillates between tropical and oriental. Mango, grilled pineapple and ripe banana on the one hand. On the other hand, curry, turmeric and saffron are dominant. Kaffir lime leaves, lemon zest and mandarin provide the necessary freshness. Delicate notes of smoke and yeast have a calming effect on the loud aromas. Needle-ride and cinnamon grate are added. The acacia now also comes to the fore spicily. It has an earthy effect and is lastingly marked by the spicy notes.
Palate
On the nose, La Merced is full-bodied and has a good amount of pressure. Fortunately, it also presents a well-integrated acid structure. The wood comes through clearly, but with restraint. A slight spiciness surrounds the mouthfeel, which otherwise can be described with pleasantly little opulence. The oriental spices as well as the nuances of acacia characterise the aftertaste for a long time. Green accents are always invigorating.
