Info

The wines of the N series represent an experimental and highly creative playground for Michael Andres. Small lots experience maximum freedom and time in any processes here. Spontaneous fermentation and no applied filtration one them all.

N stands for Natural, No filtration, No Limits and Next Level.

This parcel of Michael Andres is located in the Deidesheimer Kieselberg is in the cooler part, close to the forest.

It is fermented spontaneously in tonneau, where it also undergoes malolactic fermentation.

Until racking, the wine matures on the full lees until June 2022. Sulphur is used minimally during bottling.

Nose

The nose alternates directly between crisp fruit and fresh herbs from the garden. Grapefruit, lime and mirabelle plum fight for dominance in the nose. Chervil, parsley, lemon balm and sorrel put pressure directly from the second row. Fine vegetal notes recall freshly shaved fennel and a hint of aniseed. It seems cool and absolutely at rest. A sleeping giant that will reveal its great potential on the aromatic side.

Palate

It then gets going on the palate. The aromas of the nose come to the fore in a similar form. It seems silky-cool, enormously elegant and very finely chiselled. The acid structure moderates next to fruit and cool finesse. It lives up to its name primarily through the fine but not brute minerality on the palate. This leaves plenty of room for contemporary cuisine and makes you want more when you drink it. Slender and filigree, it flows over the palate. At the same time, it does not have an unnecessary gram too much on its hips. Pure lightness of foot with aromatic density.

  • Lukewarm leek salad with wood sorrel and roasted sunflower seeds
