Wine Description for Il Corzanello Rosato IGT 2023 by Corzano e Paterno

Colour & Appearance
Delicate salmon rosé with bright, brilliant reflections – the colour promises freshness and elegance in the glass.
Nose
This rosato made from pure Sangiovese displays wonderfully youthful and lively character. The early bottling shapes the aromatic profile: yeasty notes dominate initially and unfold into freshly chopped almonds and almond blossom. Behind these, one discovers rose and orange blossom, accompanied by orange zest through to juicy orange juice. The fruit palette ranges from strawberry through raspberry to sour cherry, underpinned by red fruit tea. Mediterranean accents such as garrigue, dried thyme and pine lend the wine its Tuscan identity.
Palate
Light, racy, precise – Il Corzanello delivers on its promise. The fruit remains deliberately restrained, allowing the drinking flow to take centre stage, which is built on finely integrated bitter compounds. These often underestimated bitter notes form the backbone of the wine and recall green almonds and olives. The floral and Mediterranean character shapes its personality, whilst the yeast at this young stage still provides gentle softness.
Finish
Medium length with lingering almond aromas and a fine bitterness reminiscent of olive leaves. The Mediterranean spice fades elegantly – a wine that invites you to take the next sip.
Grape Variety & Vinification
100% Sangiovese, the classic Tuscan grape variety, is vinified here as a rosato. The wine displays pronounced yeasty notes in its youth, which will settle over time and reveal its juicy core.
Food Pairing Suggestions
An ideal companion to grilled fish, calamari fritti, vitello tonnato, panzanella or tomato bruschetta. Also an excellent choice with goat’s cheese and light pasta dishes with seafood.
Special Characteristics
An uncomplicated, yet by no means simple everyday wine with character. The balance between fruit, bitter compounds and Mediterranean spice makes it a versatile companion – full of expression and yet effortlessly drinkable.
