Colour & Appearance

Luminous golden yellow in the glass, with a lively, delicate perlage that rises tirelessly – typical of an artisanally produced Pétillant Naturel.

Nose

Captivating from the first moment: the WAZ-K unfolds an aromatic bouquet that combines elegance with playfulness. Elderflower and acacia blossom meet violet, joined by mandarins, kumquats and subtle notes of pineapple and pear. The Viognier component lends this Pet Nat a rare aromatic depth, without ever becoming intrusive.

Palate

On the palate, the sparkling wine reveals itself as lively and zesty, with remarkably fine perlage for a Pet Nat. The texture is light and graceful, with bright fruit and a hint of lemon zest that brings freshness and tension. An uncomplicated, yet by no means simple sparkling wine that conveys pure drinking pleasure.

Finish

Refreshing and clean, with lingering fruit and a delicate minerality that invites the next sip.

Terroir & Origin

The grapes come from clay-limestone soils in Quercy near Cahors, a region known primarily for powerful red wines. Here, however, the terroir reveals its bright side with crisp minerality and freshness.

Grape Variety & Vinification

An unusual cuvée of 70% Chardonnay, 15% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Viognier. Following hand-harvesting and gentle pressing of whole bunches, spontaneous fermentation took place in tank, with the final stage in bottle – classic Méthode Ancestrale. Consistently natural: neither fined, filtered nor sulphited. Disgorging is done by hand.

Food Pairing Suggestions

An ideal aperitif for sunny days. Pairs beautifully with oysters, goat’s cheese, freshwater crayfish, ceviche or simply grilled vegetables. Also a pleasure on its own.

An authentic Pétillant Naturel from an unexpected region, proving that Cahors has more to offer than Malbec. The Viognier component is a rare and successful rarity in the Pet Nat world.
