Wine information
The 2019 Bandol Rosé »Nuances« is a pure Mourvèdre. The vines are planted in an "amphitheatre" facing the sea on Triassic clay, limestone and chalk. For this vin de guard only the best and oldest vines are used. The juice flows off using the saignée method, is slowly fermented at around 22 ºC and then aged half in 30-hectolitre Stockinger barrels and the other half in cellar amphorae.
Color
Light copper with pomegranate reflections.
Nose
The 2019 Bandol Rosé Nuances beguiles with juiciness and freshness. Blood oranges, cranberries and sweet raspberries mingle with candied cocktail cherries and redcurrant meringue pie. This charming abundance of fruit is enveloped by juniper, freshly cracked pepper and a sea of fresh rosemary, thyme and sage.
Palate
Juicy, sweet, tart, it is a real revelation on the palate. The blood orange is even more prominent here than on the nose. The tart notes of orange zest, juniper berries, liquorice and cardamom give it a very special charm. A wine that will definitely be remembered and that opens up completely new possibilities for creative chefs.
