Wine information
The Argos is a single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc from Guillaume Sorbe. The fruit comes from plots in Quincy with vines on predominantly gravelly, chalky soils. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine was matured for three years, partly in tanks, but mainly in used 400 and 600-litre barrels. The Quincy has been labelled Vin de France since the 2018 vintage.
Color
Light white gold, silvery reflections.
Nose
The 2019 Los Arcos is an exceptional wine. This is already apparent on the nose, where the light-coloured fruit of pear and yellow apple is rather restrained. Instead, aromas of fine sherry, seaweed, white bread crust and a hint of camomile emerge. The clear yeasty and chalky character already lends it a wonderful complexity on the nose.
Palate
It reveals itself on the tongue with a lot of depth and a powerful melting texture that coats the fresh acidity and is accompanied by intense salty minerality. You can literally bite into it, while at the same time it scores with filigree finesse. Great!
Enjoy from large glasses, oxygen allows it to gain additional flavour.
