Info about the wine
Already more than 2000 years ago, vines were cultivated in the climatically favored region south of Vienna. The vines benefit from the Pannonian climate, with hot summers and dry autumns. Constant air movement allows the grapes to dry quickly after dew or rain in autumn. The relatively heavy soils with a high shell limestone content give the wine character and depth. The weathered debris underneath helps with drainage and warming - and thus harvesting fully ripe, healthy grapes.
The Anninger is a mountain of 700 m height at the easternmost foothills of the Alps. At the foot of the Anninger is Gumpoldskirchen and the vineyards for this wine.

Nose
The 2015 Pinot Noir Anning opens smoky and distinctive with delicate green influences and notes of cedar, wild herbs and beetroot. With the necessary oxygen, it opens to a beguiling array of fruit of sour cherries, wild raspberries, rosehip and rosehip shrub. Distinct floral notes further underline this beguiling impression.
Palate
What a refreshing dancer with backbone and fullness. Precise and elegant with juicy berry fruit, fine spice and incredibly fine tannin and invigorating acidity equipped. A Pinot Noir with a cool, smoky, elegant and precise structure that stands out as a truly singular drop, not only in Austria. Truly great cinema, Fred Loimer. Chapeau!
Food recommendation
