Wine Description for Brut Rosé Reserve by Loimer

Colour & Appearance
Delicate salmon pink with a lively, fine-beaded mousse that bears witness to extended bottle ageing.
Nose
Cool and taut, this rosé sparkling wine presents an elegant bouquet of redcurrants, wild strawberries and cherries – both sweet and sour. Floral notes underscore the finesse, whilst brioche and nutty tones from lees ageing lend complexity and depth.
Palate
On the palate, the sparkling wine reveals surprisingly more body than the cool nose suggests. It caresses the mouth with charming, ripe-sweet notes of red and dark fruit, complemented by subtle gianduia hints. The mousse is fine and lively, the texture powerful yet perfectly balanced. Despite the fruity sweetness, the wine remains refreshingly dry with only 3 g/l dosage – the fine acidity elegantly counters the fruit and maintains everything in balance.
Finish
Persistent, fresh and with fine minerality that allows the fruit aromas to linger.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come from carefully selected vineyard sites in Langenlois and Gumpoldskirchen in Austria’s Kamptal. Hand-harvesting in 20-kg crates from early to mid-September 2015 guaranteed the highest quality.
Grape Variety & Vinification
A refined cuvée of Pinot Noir, St. Laurent and Zweigelt. Following gentle whole-bunch pressing with only 50% yield, spontaneous fermentation took place at 18-22°C over two to four weeks. Six months on fine lees in stainless steel tank, then two years sur lattes until July 2019. Bottle fermentation using the traditional method with subsequent hand riddling underscores the artisanal commitment.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Excellent as an aperitif or with smoked haddock fishcakes with leeks, courgette gratin with béchamel and Parmesan or lightly spiced pumpkin fried eggs.
Special Features
A rosé sparkling wine of remarkable elegance and finesse that combines power with restraint. The minimal dosage and extended lees ageing make it an authentic expression of Austrian sparkling wine craftsmanship.
