Tasting note

Colour & Appearance
Delicate, cloudy apricot in the glass – the natural cloudiness bears witness to unfiltered convictions. A fine, lively mousse announces the effervescent nature of this natural sparkling wine character.
Nose
Inviting and fresh: mirabelle plums and ripe apples meet juicy orange and a hint of ginger. The spontaneous fermentation leaves its unmistakable signature in the form of pleasant wine yeast. With a little air, the wine opens to delicate floral aromas, dry hay and a subtle whisper of anise – complex, yet never overdone.
Palate
Juicy, light-footed and irresistibly quaffable. A creamy texture carries the delicate fruit sweetness elegantly across the palate, whilst invigorating citrus fruit and yeasty freshness provide tension. A peppery tannin structure gives the wine grip and depth – remarkable for a Pétillant Naturel of this lightness.
Finish
Fresh, crisp and pleasantly short – the wine ends as it begins: with a smile and the inevitable reach for the bottle for the next glass.
Terroir & Origin
The vines are rooted in the mica schist of Burgenland on Lake Neusiedl – a mineral-driven terroir that gives Sankt Laurent its distinctive spice and vibrant structure.
Grape Variety & Vinification
100% Sankt Laurent, hand-harvested in early September. Whole-bunch pressing and spontaneous fermentation using the Ancestral Method – the wine is bottled with residual yeast activity still present and develops its natural carbonation in the bottle. No compromise, no constraints.
Food Pairing Suggestions
An ideal companion for charcuterie boards with spicy cheeses and cured meats, flammkuchen, sushi or simply a sunny afternoon on the terrace – without food at all.
Special Features
With just 10.5% vol. alcohol, this PetNat belongs to the refreshingly approachable natural wines that promise enjoyment without guilt. A wine that perfectly reflects the spirit of the Burgenland winemaking family Heinrich: authentic, lively and unafraid of the unconventional.
