Tasting note
Color:
Light golden yellow with clear green reflections.
Nose:
The 2021 Schoenenbourg Riesling Grand Cru "Mercurel" literally explodes on the nose with an intense aroma and pure freshness. Lime, salted lemon, grapefruit, Granny Smith apple and fresh ginger in combination with verbena, aniseed, coriander and fennel emerge from the glass. Its mineral depth is striking and extremely impressive.
Palate:
Once on the tongue, it is extremely pleasantly provocative with a lot of saltiness and an acidity that seems to literally explode. The flow of saliva is immediately stimulated and with every sip you are tempted to take another. Its pronounced fruitiness, striking minerality and fantastic acidity point to a fanstatic ageing potential that is far from exhausted. It will increase its beauty over the next few years, but if you want to enjoy it in its youthful stage, it is best served from a carafe with classic French dishes.
