Color
Bright straw yellow, bright and clear.
Nose
The 2018 Pettenthal Riesling Grosses Gewächs from Kühling-Gillot shows clear provenance on the nose Spicy notes of red pepper, bread crust and a kaleidoscope of citrus notes from lemon oil to orange blossom water outline the rich nose. The flirtatious reduction notes are embedded in floral overtones, grounded by a good cup of green tea and a hint of bergamot.
Mouth
Firm to the bite with good mineral grip and clear feel. The piquant acidity lops it neatly and is velvety coated by ripe phenolic and intelligent wood use. Aromatically, the Pettenthal has enormous depth, concentration and power with a transparent ethereal superstructure, high vibration and immense length with great prospects.
