It is rare that there is something spectacularly new to report from the Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé regions. But with the first vintage of the wines from Domaine du Bouchot under the management of Antoine Gouffier, this is definitely the case. The Domaine had previously been run by members of Antoine's family until 2017, when he and his wife Ilse Nel, who hails from South Africa, decided to step in and take it over in 2019. Domaine du Bouchot was the first domaine in conservative Pouilly-Fumé to convert to certified organic farming in 2009. 2020 is then the first demeter-certified vintage of the Domaine, whose ten hectares cover terroirs of Portlandian limestone (Caillottes) and Kimmeridge (Terres Blanches).
