Color
Slightly cloudy golden yellow with delicate green reflections.
Nose
Freshly poured, the 2014 Fontanasanta -Nosiola somehow seems positively "unfinished", it needs a lot of air to open up. Decanted after 2 hours, it shows fine peach notes, fresh pear, fennel and aniseed notes, plus some acacia blossom and freshly brewed sage tea. Already in the nose it reveals its maturity potential.
Palate
On the palate, the 2014 Fontanasanta-Nosiola is fresh, elegant and at the same time dense and powerful. It retains this freshness and cool minerality even when enjoyed at a warmer drinking temperature, as recommended by Elisabetta. The long and salty finish gives an idea of the incredible complexity and excellent ageing potential of this unusual wine. The low alcohol of 11Vol% seems almost unbelievable with its density and expression.
Buy it and put it away!
Recommendation
If you want to enjoy it in its youthful stage, be sure to decant it and serve it in a sufficiently large glass, even a few days of opening will make it win.
