Nosiola

Nosiola is one of the autochthonous grape varieties of Trentino that has long stood in the shadow of international names. Its character lies between restraint and mineral presence – not spectacular, but with substance. The wines often show nutty notes (hence the name, from „nocciola“ – hazelnut), a taut acidity and a subtle fruit that leaves room for development. Rather rare in the dry version, Nosiola is more frequently found as Vino Santo, where the dried grapes become complex dessert wines.
