Wine Description for Bulles de Liv Crémant de Loire Gold Extra Brut AOP 2022 1500ml Magnum by Liv Vincendeau

Character
A Crémant de Loire of impressive clarity and precision – vinified as extra brut, meaning with minimal residual sugar, which gives the wine an unadorned, straight-talking honesty. The 1.5-litre magnum format is far more than just a grand gesture: it slows down the ageing process, concentrates the texture and imparts a particular finesse to the perlage. A sparkling wine that does not seek to please, but to convince.
Terroir & Origin
The Loire is France’s longest river and at the same time one of the most diverse wine regions in the world. Its cool, Atlantic-influenced climate ensures natural acidity and aromatic tension – ideal conditions for sparkling wine production. The Crémant de Loire AOP covers a broad area along the river, where limestone and tuffeau soils give the wine a mineral depth and cool elegance that is difficult to replicate in other regions.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Chenin Blanc – also known in the Loire Valley as Pineau de la Loire – is one of the world’s great, yet still underrated grape varieties. It combines high natural acidity with remarkable aromatic complexity and a longevity that surprises even experienced wine connoisseurs. As the foundation for an Extra Brut Crémant, it reveals its purest form: unadorned by residual sweetness, but rich in depth, tension and expression. The traditional bottle fermentation (Méthode Traditionnelle) gives the wine a fine, persistent mousse and bakery-like yeast notes, creating complexity without heaviness. Winemaker Liv Vincendeau focuses with this Crémant on artisanal care and a clear, unadulterated expression of the grape variety.
Food Pairings
The cool acidity and dry style make this Crémant a versatile companion at the table. Wonderful with oysters and a fine seafood platter, equally convincing alongside goat’s cheese from the Loire such as Crottin de Chavignol or Selles-sur-Cher. It also unfolds its full potential with steamed turbot, ceviche or an elegant lobster bisque. The magnum format makes it predestined for festive occasions – a wine that knows how to fill a room.
