Wine description for Crémant de Loire Bulles de Liv Dégorgement Tardif by Liv Vincendeau

Character
Liv Vincendeau represents a new generation of winemakers at the Loire who combine traditional methods with a personal signature. Her Crémant „Bulles de Liv“ with Dégorgement Tardif – late disgorging – demonstrates that she takes her time: the wine matures longer on the lees, which gives it additional complexity and creamy texture. At only 12.5% alcohol, this sparkling wine remains refreshingly light and approachable, without losing depth.
Terroir & Origin
The Loire is France’s most versatile wine region, and Crémant de Loire represents the affordable, artisanal alternative to Champagne. The cooler, Atlantic-influenced climate ensures vibrant acidity and elegant freshness. The region’s tuffstone cellars provide ideal conditions for traditional bottle fermentation. Vincendeau’s approach respects this centuries-old tradition whilst charting her own course – authentic and without compromise.
Grape variety & Vinification
Chenin Blanc is the soul of the Loire, a grape variety of remarkable versatility. In sparkling wine production, it brings structure, minerality and the ability to age elegantly. Late disgorging means the wine had longer contact with the fine lees – often several years – which develops notes of brioche, nuts and a silky-creamy mousse. The dry orientation (minimal residual sugar) emphasises the purity of the fruit and the mineral precision of Chenin Blanc.
Food pairing suggestions
This Crémant is a versatile companion: classically with oysters and seafood, but also with goat’s cheese from the Loire region, smoked fish or poultry terrine. The creamy texture harmonises beautifully with mushroom dishes or risotto. As an aperitif it works equally well – its lightness and freshness make it the ideal companion for both relaxed and festive occasions.
