Terroir & Origin

The roots of Domaine Rougeot lie in Meursault in the Côte de Beaune. Pierre-Henri Rougeot took over his father Marc’s 12.6 hectares and initiated a radical turning point in 2016. On the living soils of the region, the winemaker relies out of conviction on organic farming (certified since 2020) and is currently in conversion to Demeter. The cool terroir of Burgundy lends this Aligoté a striking, saline length and a gripping structure.

Grape Variety & Vinification

The traditional Burgundian grape variety Aligoté is interpreted here in its purest form. Fully reflecting the reductive winemaking style Pierre-Henri refined during his time at Domaine de Montille, the “Les Plumes” cuvée is aged without added sulphites – a visual commitment signalled by its diagonally striped label. In the historical 18th-century cellars, the wine matures without fining or filtration, preserving the unadulterated varietal aromas.

Thanks to its fresh, focused nature, this dry white wine pairs exceptionally well with oysters, fresh seafood, or classic sashimi. It also elegantly complements delicate Rocamadour cheese selections or a leek and sea fish quiche.
