Wine information
For this wine, Boris Champy used Pinot Noir from the Le Clou parcel in Nantoux. The parcel is located at 377 metres above sea level. The soil of the parcel is characterised by white clay with a high proportion of lime marl. All in all, this is a very stony vineyard, which Boris calls his Châteauneuf designated. Some of the vineyards were planted in the 1980s with a density of over 10,000 Guyot vines. Boris Champy only de-stemmed a small part of the grapes, 70 % of which are whole grapes. He extracted the grapes gently and aged the wine for twelve months in barrels, but a portion of 30 % in new wood.

intense purple
Nose
Boris Champys 2020s Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Clou 377 is an intense wine from the start with notes of peony, rose petals and bergamot, pepper and bresaola, tobacco, stone, plums and dark cherries. There are also notes of ripe raisins, elegant wood, some menthol and cool wet stone.
Palate
The palate develops the Clou 377 Power and liveliness with a quite distinctive tannin and the note of ripe raisins, plus a dark and crisp fruit accompanied by a punchy, bright acidity. There are slightly earthy notes and a bit of Sous bois. The Pinot Noir is delicious, highly clear, transparent and complex in its mixture of crisp fruit, stony spiciness and the still youthful yeast and slightly lactic aspects. It is already a pleasure to drink.
