Golden yellow with old gold reflections.
Nose
The nose of the 2012 Furmint Demi-Sec from Királyudvar is generous and its fruit aromas represent different aggregate states of fruit. Stewed pears, warm apple compote and pear jam mingle with quince bread and dried fruit. The botrytis reminds of hand-wound beeswax candles from the health food store, acacia honey and dried tangerine peel make the wheel go round in circles and remind of a bazaar from 1001 nights.
Mouth
On the palate, it is carried by ripe fruit and a distinctive viscosity. The creamy mouthfeel entices with silky contour on the tongue and is supported by tart notes of light tobacco, orange cardamom and white pepper. The fruit shows with benevolent sweetness, mirroring the nose of tangerine peel, candied fruit and dried figs. All this is most animatingly tart coated.
