Nose
The Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos not only appears young and intense in colour, but also in fragrance. Lime blossom and orange blossom are the most intense markers here, underpinned by mint, smoke and saffron. There is also candied ginger, orange peel, a little pineapple, soft apricots, pears and quince as well as a little honey, oak and rock candy. This is wonderfully dense and captivating.
Palate
On the palate, the Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos the perfect balance of density, creaminess and acidity. The effect is highly elegant, complex and lively with lots of stone fruit in fresh and dried form, ginger and saffron, black tea and caramel. The juicy bitter orange is outstanding, reminiscent of Old English marmalade with dark sugar. In the finish, everything is just right - the length, the glistening acidity, the elegant sweetness, the tartness and bitterness. All together, the Tokaji remain for decades and are still becoming more complex.
