Colour & Appearance
Radiant orange-amber robe with remarkable intensity and youthfulness – a visual promise of the concentration this wine holds.
Nose
An enchanting aromatic panorama unfolds: linden blossom and orange blossom dominate, underpinned by mint, smoke and saffron. These are joined by candied ginger, orange peel, dried apricots, quinces and a subtle honeyed sweetness. The complexity is captivating, the intensity remarkable.
Palate
Here the true greatness of this Tokaji reveals itself: perfect balance between creaminess and brilliant acidity. Stone fruit in all its facets – fresh and dried –, ginger, saffron, black tea and caramel weave a dense flavour tapestry. Outstanding is the bitter orange, reminiscent of dark English marmalade.
Finish
Impressive length with an interplay of elegant sweetness, vibrant acidity and fine bitter notes. A finale that promises decades ahead and will gain further complexity with time.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come from the top vineyard sites Danczka, Lapis, Becsek and Percze with characteristic volcanic soils of white rhyolite tuff, which lend the wine its mineral structure and tension.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Classic Tokaji cuvée of 80% Furmint and 20% Hárslevelű. Vinified according to the traditional 6 Puttonyos method: six tuns of noble-rotted berries (22 kg each) to 136.5 litres of base wine. Maturation over 28 months in 5-hectolitre casks of Slavonian oak, followed by a further six years of bottle age before market release.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Excellent with calf’s sweetbread with caramelised pear-quinces, firm blue cheese such as Stilton or Stichelton, or with a tart of poultry liver pâté with pistachios and Quatre Épices. Also a delight enjoyed solo as a meditation.

With just 10% alcohol, 207 g/l residual sugar and 9.3 g/l acidity, this wine demonstrates the classic balance of great Tokaji Aszú. A wine for generations with enormous ageing potential.
