Topaz

The white grape variety Topaz is one of the pioneering, disease-resistant new crossings that shine in the vineyard with their natural robustness and unfold a fascinating independence in the cellar. It brings a dense, textured body and an animating acid structure to the wine, which is often carried by aromas of ripe yellow fruits, fine herbal spice and a subtle phenolics. This inner firmness gives it a remarkable balance and makes it an excellent provider of structure. How harmoniously these characteristics unfold in a blend is demonstrated in its interplay with the classic Grüner Veltliner. The biodynamic estate Meinklang harnesses this synergy in its white fusion, where Topaz lends the vibrant Veltliner an additional dimension of grip, yellow spice and fine, tart depth.
