Hondarrabi Zuri

Hondarrabi Zuri is the main white grape variety of the Basque white wine Txakoli. The name means „white grape from Hondarribia“, the coastal town on the French border. Traditionally, the variety is vinified with high acidity and light alcohol – a fresh, sparkling wine with salinity from the Atlantic. Modern interpretations show that Hondarrabi Zuri can also be made fuller-bodied and more complex without losing its characteristic tension. Artadi in Navarra interprets the variety with more depth and structure.
