Wine Description for Rosé „SABLE“ VdF 2023 by Alône

Colour & Appearance
Delicate apricot with pale highlights towards the rim – a rosé that already interprets the sandy soils of Provence visually in the glass. Clear and luminous.
Nose
Enchanting and multi-layered: peach and honeydew melon dominate, underpinned by sour cherry and red berries. A seductive hint of almonds and anise lends the bouquet complexity and Provençal character.
Palate
Here the Sable reveals its true nature: juicy and powerful, with a fine fruity sweetness that balances perfectly with savoury spice and invigorating acidity. At 13% alcohol, this rosé has more substance than the usual poolside clichés.
Finish
Long and characterised by a distinctive saline note – a clear fingerprint of the sandy terroir. Here you taste the proximity to the sea and the mineral precision of the soil.
Terroir & Origin
Pascale Jourdan and Christian Ott deliberately chose this extraordinary location: sandy soils on which a centuries-old oak thrives – a quality promise from nature. The small Lône river, which gave the winery its name, shapes the landscape. Natural winemaking without conventions.
Grape Variety & Vinification
A classic Provençal blend: 68% Grenache, 25% Cinsault, 7% Syrah. Hand-harvested, temperature-controlled processing, parcel-by-parcel vinification with indigenous yeasts. Ageing takes place in stainless steel, ceramic and porcelain spheres – modern vessels that preserve fruit precision.
Food Pairing Recommendations
This rosé calls for intense, Provençal flavours: bouillabaisse, grilled sea bass with fennel, ratatouille, tapenade on toasted bread. Also excellent with Moroccan tagines or lamb chops with Provençal herbs.
Special Features
A rosé with identity and substance – far removed from industrial mass production. The story of the winery, founded by two passionate winemakers who wanted to realise their own vision, is reflected in every sip. The name „Sable“ (sand) is programme.
