Scent
This wonderful 2009 Riesling Schlossberg "L'Epicentre" shows the uniqueness of the dry Rieslings from the Schlossberg with its complexity and minerality. Aromas of limes, citrus fruits and apricots merge with a salty note and a robust minerality. The scent of ripe pineapple, sweet elderflowers and a delicate blossom honey dominate the bouquet and make for an unforgettable impression.
Taste
The subtle sweetness of this 2009 Riesling Schlossberg "L'Epicentre" is superbly balanced by a lively acidity and a striking, slightly salty minerality. This is a stunning, nimble and premium sweet wine.
In terms of food, this wine offers two main possibilities. First, it harmonises wonderfully with a lime parfait accompanied by freshly picked wild raspberries. Secondly, it can be a perfect contrast to a goat's cheese au gratin accompanied by a spicy apricot and ginger ragout. Alternatively, a fine dessert of an airy strawberry foam with a fresh mint topping would be an excellent option or for cheese lovers, a slice of creamy Camembert with fig mustard would also be a fitting accompaniment.
