Wine information
The wine comes from the single vineyard Kirchenstück in Hohen-Sülzen. This vineyard was
already mentioned before the Thirty Years' War, has been under vines for more than 400 years.
The slope, which is 150 metres high and has a gradient of 15 %, is characterised by clay and limestone.
stones that you can grind in your hand. This way the vines have a very good supply of nutrients,
and the minerals from the highly calcareous subsoil can be translated directly.
Color
rich straw yellow
Nose
The 2018 Große Gewächs from the Kirchenstück vineyard in Hohen-Sülzen presents itself slightly
phenolic firm and cool with dark notes of stone, undergrowth, dry wood and nuts.
Above this are notes of citrus, stone fruit and blond tobacco against a still youthfully
yeast note.
Mouth
The fruit is juicy and firm on the palate. In the first moment the church piece seems on the other hand
almost soft and silky, but then the acidity gains more and more the upper hand. The Riesling
becomes clear, precise and punchy with dark berry flavors, tannin and stone. The Great
The growth is deep, complex and energetic, almost tonic because of its vivid
minerality, and it concludes in a juicy, very vital and mineral punchy
Finals.
