Wine information
The wine comes from vines with 10,000 density planting in the Climat Les Longeroies in Marsannay. The 1.4 ha cover the middle of the slope and include both the Dessus des Longeroies with limestone soil and its base with red marl. After destemming, cool pre-fermentation and spontaneous fermentation, the wine is aged slowly on the fine lees for 16 months in 228-litre barriques containing 20-30 % of new wood.
Color
intense garnet red
Nose
Give it air and time and it will evolve within hours from a rather lactic wine with mixed wild berry yoghurt to a cru that smells of sour cherries and elderberries, some blood orange, herbs and stone with a little undergrowth.
Palate
Of the different climates in Marsannay, Longeroies probably has the best chance of achieving cru status. You can tell by the depth and complexity of this wine. Here, too, it is worth caraffing. Then it becomes silky on the palate with a charming tannin and a thoroughly powerful acidity. The Marsannay tastes of forest fruit and also here of lots of cherry and elderberries. In fact, you can get the impression here that you have a Gevrey-Cru in the glass, so cool and concentrated does the Pinot appear.
