Wine description for La Grange AOP 2023 375ml from Luneau-Papin

Character

La Grange AOP 2023 from Luneau-Papin embodies the transparent clarity that we expect from a fine Muscadet. Made from the noble Melon de Bourgogne grape, this wine presents itself with the mineral precision typical of the Loire. The barely perceptible residual sweetness emphasises the dry, focussed characterwhich bears the signature of Luneau-Papin - one of the leading addresses for high-quality Muscadet wines.

Terroir & Tradition

The soils of the Muscadet region, characterised by volcanic rock, granite and gneiss, give this wine its characteristic minerality. The proximity to the Atlantic Ocean provides maritime influences, which can be reflected in a subtle salty flavour. Luneau-Papin, a family with deep roots in the region, cultivates its vineyards with the respect for the terroir that is reserved for great wines. The moderate alcohol content of 12.0% reflects the cooler climate of the Loire and allows for an elegant balance.

Winemaking philosophy

The Luneau-Papin family is one of the region's quality pioneers and works with meticulous care in both the vineyard and the cellar. Their focus is on the authentic interpretation of the terroir, not on technological interventions. This craftsmanlike approach allows the Melon de Bourgogne to unfold its full expressiveness - far removed from fashions and trends, but close to the essence of what makes Loire wines so special.

Food pairing suggestions

In its classic role, this Muscadet shines with seafood cuisine - especially oysters and seafood. But its versatility extends further: light goat's cheese, asparagus with vinaigrette or a simple ceviche make harmonious accompaniments. The 375ml bottle offers the perfect portion for an intimate dinner for two, where the finesse of the wine can come into its own without its subtle nuances losing their freshness over the course of the evening.
